Pine Ridge Viognier Review: Why This White Wine Is So Popular

“Proof that sometimes the perfect white wine really does exist.”

One of my all-time favorite white wines is Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc + Viognier — truly a glass of sunshine in liquid form! This Napa Valley gem is effortlessly enjoyable, whether you’re sipping solo on a lazy afternoon or pairing it with a meal.

What makes this wine so fascinating is its blend — 80% Chenin Blanc, a crisp, citrusy grape from France’s Loire Valley, and 20% Viognier, the lush, aromatic beauty behind the famed Condrieu wines of the Rhône. Together, they create a perfect balance of brightness and charm —

like a first date that actually lives up to the hype!

Pairing Perfection: What to Eat with Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc + Viognier

Here are some of our favorite pairings:

  • Grilled Shrimp: The wine’s brightness makes these little guys shine—perfect for a casual weeknight that somehow feels fancy.
  • Citrusy Salads: Its crisp acidity balances the zing of citrus, leaving your taste buds refreshed and ready for more.
  • Spicy Thai Curry: A subtle sweetness tames the heat—like a friendly fire extinguisher for your palate.
  • Savory Squash Pastry Bites: Creamy, savory, and a little indulgent—the wine’s fruitiness is the perfect dance partner.
  • Thai Chicken Salad: Floral notes and balanced acidity highlight the flavors without stealing the spotlight.

Cheese & Wine Love Story: Build a board with soft cheeses like brie or goat cheese and firmer friends like Gruyère or aged cheddar. Your wine will flirt with each bite.

Seafood Starters: Think shrimp cocktail, smoked salmon canapés, or oysters. The wine’s citrusy brightness keeps up with every salty, briny bite.

Feeling adventurous? Try it with shrimp ceviche, leek and bacon flatbreads, tempura prawns, pumpkin risotto, or even Thai green curry. Basically, if it’s delicious, this wine probably gets along with it.

A perfect pairing, Shrimp Tostadas

If you are a big fan of shrimp and guacamole, you will like this recipe! Preparing Shrimp Tostadas is a bit time-consuming, but it is worth the time and pairs very nicely with Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc+Viognier. This blend has a subtle sweetness that provides balance alongside a touch of heat. The sweetness of the wine helps to smooth out any slight burning sensation in your mouth.
